Why did you choose the University of Birmingham?

Birmingham is a Russell Group university. The university is a pioneer in research. It is well respected in the academic and industry environment both nationally and across the globe. It is situated in a young, vibrant city but is still able to retain a prestigious atmosphere largely down to its history and transformation over the years.

How will your degree prepare you for what you want to do afterwards?

My degree will give me all round knowledge across a wide range of fields including Banking, Company, International Law and Human Rights, which will enable me to ‘stand’ out from the crowd as I have a broad knowledge in a range of fields, which some employers prefer.

What was your motivation for undertaking postgraduate study?

My main motivation for continuing into postgraduate study was that I enjoyed LLB and I didn’t want to just stop there. I wanted to expand on what I learnt and the skills I acquired during my undergraduate study.

Have you joined any clubs or societies, gone on any research trips or done any volunteering?

I have been involved in Islamic Society which is really active across campus.

What, for you, are the best things about the course?

The vast knowledge and the range of courses available.

What has been the highlight of your time at Birmingham?

I’ve only been at Birmingham for two months and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. The highlight for me would be the societies I’ve been involved in; this is something I wasn’t involved in when I was studying at my previous university.

Do you have anything lined up for once you have completed your degree?

Not yet- although I am working on it (fingers crossed).
