Why did you choose your course at the University of Birmingham?

The city, Birmingham has metamorphosed into a culturally and religiously diverse community in Europe; hence, I chose to study at the University of Birmingham, trusting that it is an ideal place for intense learning of Theology and Religious Studies.

What has been the highlight of your course?

That Theology and Religion encapsulates a vast study of many religions; its histories, practices, traditions, and politics, with the aim of understanding the ideologies that undergirds them in the contemporary world. My favourite module is Gender, Sexualities and Religion. As for the project, I intend to work with the Guild of Students on a health-related project and venture into any religious inclined project of my choice. Guest lectures include From Surviving to Thriving: Positive Psychology Strategies to get the most out of your time at the University; the lecture was delivered by Prof. Christian Van Nieuwerburgh.

What have you learnt from your programme?

I have a better grasp of other religions and their spiritualties; this knowledge is necessary to understand and relate better with people from other religions. I have also learnt team-spirit and team-work.
