How was your experience of accessing Skills Bootcamp careers support?
Having the career resources at the end are incredibly valuable, I found this really useful especially as a graduate. Making the most of these resources was very beneficial.
What are some of the best things about your Skills Bootcamp experience or your biggest achievements?
I learned a deep understanding of how to manipulate data, which has been a transferable skill in my job, regardless of what the platform is we are using. Data visualisation is also something I learned that I continue to refer back to.
Have you been offered a new job role and/or responsibilities which utilise the skills and experience acquired on the Skills Bootcamp?
Yes, I am now a Data Analyst at Bet365.
Tell us about yourself and your journey to studying a Skills Bootcamp.
I had no prior data/tech background before taking part in the bootcamp. I had slight concerns about this at the beginning however hard work and dedication to the curriculum, practising in my own time and experimenting with the tools we had been taught allowed me to develop data analyst skills to a strong level. Not having a data background did not hold me back on this course in any way.
Why did you choose to study a Skills Bootcamp at the University of Birmingham?
I wanted to get a broad understanding of data analytics and the various tools and techniques that would help me land a position in the field. Learning about a wide range of these tools at Birmingham University enabled me to gain this skillset.
