I applied for the Binternship programme and they were very helpful.

What has been your biggest achievement during your course so far?

My biggest achievement will be the day I finished my first essay and submitted, it is still a beautiful feeling I am yet to describe.
Also, being a student representative is a wholesome and fulfilling experience.

What are the best things about your course?

I might have mentioned this before but then I would again! The level of support from the lecturers at every step of the way. And also I am happy to have my cohort members as my cohort members.
I believe it’s a positive epidemic of good vibes over here.

Tell us about yourself and your journey to postgraduate study.

My name is Hadiza Mahmud a current Masters Student in Public and Environmental Health in the University Of Birmingham.

My Postgraduate study journey is going far better than I expected, from volunteering to be a student representative which is a wholesome experience, to the modules being offered in the course and the supportive lecturers. I am happy and glad I chose this path and doing it with University of Birmingham is one that I am grateful to God for.

What was your motivation for postgraduate study?

My desire to build my knowledge and an enthusiasm to solve the demanding problems faced in the
health and environmental industry today, motivated me to pursue a Masters Degree.
I chose to pursue a career in this field of Health and Environment because I believe it will not just be a
stepping stone to my goals but will make me feel achieved that I creating an impact in the lives and
health of others. I believe my educational background and experience has instilled in me the qualities
required to meet the rigor of this course and subsequently the profession. I bring along with me a grasp
of fundamentals in Physiology, a strong desire to be part of the change for a better world.
