I scored the highest score in the LLM cohort for the formative assessment in the Introduction to Legal Research course.

In my undergraduate law programme at O.P. Jindal Global University, India, my course manuals included many readings from subject experts working as faculty at Birmingham Law School. It is an absolute pleasure to be studying from the finest minds in the world. The course structure is quite flexible and allows students to design their curriculum as per the subjects of interest. Assessments are phased out comfortably throughout the semester with ample guidance through one-on-one feedback.

The College of Arts and Law Masters (CAL) Scholarship has immensely reduced my financial burden in pursuing my Masters of Law (LLM) Programme at UoB. The exorbitant fee is a roadblock in every international student’s dream of pursuing a Masters abroad. Hence, my priority was to pursue higher education on a scholarship. The CAL scholarship is a generous amount of scholarship that is awarded based on merit. I am honoured to have received the award amongst an exceptionally talented cohort.

I pursued an undergraduate degree in law for five years in India and was determined to study a masters in the same field. However, I had to re-think my plans because of Covid. I utilised that period in working for two years in a full-time role at O.P. Jindal Global University, India, as the Assistant Director for International Collaborations at Jindal Global Law School. I chose UoB for its excellent ranking, flexible course structure, and central location in the UK. I am quite interested in international law and I am excited to be learning the same from the world-renowned faculty at UoB.

I have always liked reading and writing. Pursuing an undergraduate law degree taught me critical thinking and soon I realised that I wanted to be an academic. I took up postgraduate study to learn and understand the discipline of law better.
