What was your motivation for postgraduate study?

I am a strong believer in the power of learning and education. Having completed my first degree and Masters in social sciences, I got fascinated with STEM, and in particular AI and its real world applications. So the main motivation was knowledge, learning, meeting new like minded professionals who are as enthused as I am about the power of AI in the fourth industrial revolution.

This is my second masters, I completed my first masters in Applied Linguistics in 2012 at Aston University and since then have been working in the education sector. I love learning, and believe in the power of continuous professional development. One thing I have always been regretting, is not having a good foundation in STEM. I believe in today’s world it is so important, and vital to have that base. The application for the AI & Sustainable development course was a very last minute one, as I saw a full fee scholarship being advertised by OfS for female students, and applied one week before the deadline. As I already was living in Birmingham, UoB was an excellent option, as I would not have to relocate. I also loved the course content and UoB is a great highly ranked, Russell Group University, so I was so excited about this opportunity.
