What was your motivation for postgraduate study?

Throughout my undergraduate studies, I discovered a strong interest in HCI, which fuelled my desire to dive deeper into the subject. I have always been drawn to problem-solving, critical thinking, and applying theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, and this subject gave me the perfect platform to explore these areas.

During my undergraduate studies, I consistently sought opportunities to broaden my understanding beyond the classroom. I took on internships, participated in research projects, and engaged in extracurricular activities that allowed me to apply what I learned in real-world situations. These experiences not only enriched my knowledge but also reinforced my passion for HCI. In addition to strengthening my technical skills, I developed a range of soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, and effective communication, all of which I believe are essential for success in postgraduate studies and beyond.

After completing my degree, I felt a strong desire to pursue postgraduate study as the next step in my academic and professional journey. I realized that to make a meaningful impact in my field, I needed to specialise further and deepen my understanding of the complexities involved. My decision to apply for postgraduate study is driven by my desire to advance my expertise in HCI , work on innovative solutions, and contribute to the evolving landscape of this field.

Tell us about yourself and your journey to postgraduate study.

I have always been deeply curious about everything around me. I find myself constantly seeking to understand and explore the world, trying to find the best in every situation. This curiosity has driven my academic journey and personal growth. As a person, I lean towards being introverted, but I’m a complete extrovert when I’m with my people. I value close connections and meaningful conversations, and that’s where I truly thrive.

One of my goals during this next chapter of postgraduate study is to expand my social circle and make connections with a wide range of people. I’ve always wanted to be friends with different kinds of people, though I sometimes feel that others find me unapproachable. I’m eager to work on this aspect of myself, stepping out of my comfort zone to build new friendships and connections.

The campus itself feels so advanced, yet there’s a touch of vintage in every corner, creating an inspiring atmosphere. This environment, with its rich academic culture and diverse community, feels like the perfect place for me to grow not just academically, but personally as well. I’m really looking forward to immersing myself in this unique setting and making the most of every opportunity.
