Questions

What has been your biggest achievement during your course so far?

One of my most significant personal achievements so far has been successfully building my first robot as a member of the Robotics Society, an experience that deepened my passion for hands-on innovation and problem-solving.

Currently, I am working on an exciting project focused on the integration of social robots in healthcare, investigating how robotics can revolutionise patient care and improve outcomes.

Additionally, while volunteering with WISE (Women in STEM) and serving as the Outreach Officer for the OSTEM Society, I am collaborating with several university societies to organise a conference centred on minorities in STEM. Initiative which aims to challenge stereotypes about who belongs in STEM and inspire individuals from diverse backgrounds to join the pipeline!

What are the best things about your course?

In my opinion, the best aspects of my course are the supportive academic environment within the Computer Science department and the countless opportunities the university offers to enhance the overall experience. Every professor and student I have encountered has been very approachable and willing to help me clarify my understanding of complex concepts.

What was your motivation for postgraduate study?

Upon completing my Bachelor’s degree, I recognized a strong desire to further deepen my knowledge and broaden my skill set in computer science. While my undergraduate studies were an enriching and formative experience, I was eager to explore topics such as algorithms, artificial intelligence, and object-oriented programming in greater depth.

I found myself dreaming every night of the possibility of immersing myself in cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with like-minded peers on meaningful projects in computer science. Now, I am fortunate enough to say that my experience so far has been nothing short of what I had envisioned. This journey has not only reaffirmed my passion for the field but also solidified my confidence that I am on the right path toward achieving my professional goals.
