Questions

What do you hope to achieve during your postgraduate study at Birmingham?

Aside from academic success, I hope to develop myself personally through interacting with new people, trying new things and really projecting what I see in the future for myself. I also hope to help other students feel comfortable in their academic journey as I know university at both undergraduate and postgraduate can be overwhelming.

What are you looking forward to most on your course?

I am most looking forward to a module abroad, I think it is a brilliant opportunity for something new and exciting and could open so many doors for me. I did not get a study abroad experience, but I think this module abroad in Dubai or Singapore will help me fill that void and will help boost my career further due to the international aspect of my MSc in International Business.

What have been your first impressions of Birmingham so far?

A very lively, diverse city with so much to do. After living in London for my undergraduate degree, I would say Birmingham has a much more friendly homely feel but also keeps the liveliness of a city and never stops being fun.

What was your motivation for postgraduate study?

I always wanted to complete a Masters following my undergraduate degree, especially at the University of Birmingham. My course aligns perfectly with my career path and the careers services at the business school will be really beneficial for me.

Tell us about yourself and your journey to postgraduate study.

I completed an undergraduate degree at the London School of Economics in Anthropology and Law. Rather than following the path into law I wanted to explore my interest in International Business as I thought it would be more suited to me, I also felt like I wanted to carry on with education so a postgraduate degree in International Business aligned perfectly with me. I am a home student and already live in Birmingham so I can commute to campus.
