What are your future aspirations after you finish your postgraduate degree?

I would really like to continue my studies at University of Birmingham. When I started my Masters, I had in mind clinical psychology, however, thanks to my Masters degree I would like to apply to complete a PhD for 2024.

What do you think makes the University of Birmingham unique?

I think the quality staff willing to help you every step of the way is what makes University of Birmingham unique. Oh, and Old Joe, of course!

Have you joined any student societies or taken part in any events so far during your studies?

I have joined the psychology society and joined an open day event as an ambassador, where although I was working, it never felt like work.

How are you finding living in Birmingham? Do you find the student community supportive?

I have been living in Birmingham for 11 years now and it is a beautiful city, I would very highly recommend it to anyone. The architecture, the museums, the night lifeā€¦ what is there not to like?

What has been your experience of campus life? Do you enjoy studying on the Edgbaston campus?

I feel at home at University of Birmingham and my experiences have all been positive and extremely uplifting. University of Birmingham keeps my creative mind going.

What have been the highlights of your postgraduate course so far?

The course has greatly surprised me, and has more than met my expectations. My highlights have been discovering I actually love philosophy. Also, the Self-harm and Suicide module as it allows me to reflect on everyday issues from a research and clinical standpoint.

What made you decide to study a postgraduate course at the University of Birmingham?

I attended a couple of University of Birmingham open days and researched the University. From the moment I attended my first open day, I knew I wanted to come to University of Birmingham.

Can you give a short outline of the postgraduate course that you study? How has it benefited you so far? What have you enjoyed about the course?

I am completing the MSc Mental Health. It has greatly benefited me to see mental health issues from various viewpoints, such as philosophy, research and clinical practice. I also like how the course offers an interdisciplinary view as it approaches mental health holistically. I am truly greatly enjoying the course and I know 100% I made the right choice.
