Getting industrial exposure and different career opportunities to grow professionally, and simultaneously improving my soft skills with every opportunity I come across.

What have been your first impressions of Birmingham so far?

It’s a friendly and professional atmosphere at the same time. There are different officers available to help students with any problem, be it at the university or outside. Being an international student, I am grateful for this opportunity, as I can turn to the university for any query, rather than going to a stranger in a completely new country.
I also like the ambience of the campus, and the study schedule. It’s very efficient and professional, which I believe will help me in my career.

What was your motivation for postgraduate study?

I was always an enthusiast about engineering and science, and hence my choice of postgraduate subject here. I am looking forward to gaining industrial exposure and different career opportunities, so that I can grow professionally.

Tell us about yourself and your journey to postgraduate study.

I am an international student here at the university. I recently graduated from Amity University Kolkata with my BTech in biotechnology. I am an enthusiastic and motivated person, with an interest in socialising with people. I am disciplined and a team player. Being an international student and a new joiner at the University, it’s exciting and challenging at the same time. Managing studies and other household chores together is a bit challenging but I believe it will get better eventually. The environment here is very positive and motivating, which I really prefer.
