What is the support like at the University of Birmingham Dubai?

The faculty is incredibly friendly and supportive. I was assigned a personal tutor, and the entire team is very proactive, they regularly check in to see how you’re progressing, which really helps keep me motivated. It’s also great that you can book appointments with the Academic Skills Centre whenever you need additional support.

How do you find studying in Dubai?

I’m originally from India, but I’ve been working in Dubai for the past 10 years. While there are many opportunities to study online, the University of Birmingham Dubai stands out for offering face-to-face learning, which is highly valued. Additionally, the fact that this programme is accredited by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research adds significant value and credibility.

What are your future career goals?

Through this programme, I hope to take my career to the next level. Currently, I work as a Clinical Instructor, but I aspire to progress into roles such as Senior Lecturer, Faculty member, or even Assistant Professor in the future.

I would highly recommend this programme looking to take their paramedic career to the next level, I think this is a fantastic opportunity.

How do you find fitting the programme around your professional life?

As a working professional, I’ve found it convenient to attend weekend and evening sessions, which fit well around my schedule. The self-directed study format further supports this flexibility.

Being a part-time student, I really appreciate the modern, brand-new campus, it’s a great environment to be in. I often choose to spend my free time there, simply to sit and get some work done.

Tell us a little about your professional background and what led you to apply to the MSc Advanced Practice in Healthcare course in Dubai.

I’ve been working as a paramedic in both clinical and educational settings. I applied to this programme primarily because I was seeking a high-quality education, one that offers a curriculum encompassing education, research, and leadership. The MSc Advanced Practice in Health programme stood out to me because it integrates all three of these essential components, and is from a global top 100 British university.
