What would you say to someone considering the Skills Bootcamp?
I have already been telling some family members to get involved and sign up for a bootcamp with UoB! I had a great experience and want to share that with others.

The overall support was great – Nick was supporting all of us students as much as he could during office hours and during class. The TAs who conducted the coaching sessions were also very helpful.
I achieved 100% on most of my personal homeworks, which I am very proud of. The recommended amount of time we were expected to put in (other than class time) was 20 hours per week. I exceeded this on most weeks and it was worth it. I put my all into this bootcamp and tried to make the most of it, using office hours and 1:1 coaching sessions. I have learned the UX UI design process and understood the importance of each step in creating a flawless user experience. I also learned a lot about teamwork and delegating roles in order to suit the strengths of the team, rather than dividing all tasks into fragments so each member of the team had a hand in each part. This yielded poor results, which meant we had to revisit one of the previous steps to obtain higher quality insights.
I have had an interview with Just Eat, IBM, SciLeads. I also have reached the final stage of recruitment with DXC Technology.
I am a career switcher, changing from being a community pharmacist for 4 and a half years, into the world of UX UI. I always had a creative side which was not fulfilled in my current career, hence the reason for completing the bootcamp in hope for a fresh start. I was apprehensive to begin with, but Nick (our instructor) was fantastic – the best there is! He was non-judgemental and his teaching approach really brought the best out of our cohort. We all felt he was a key part in us all succeeded in this course.
I chose to complete my UX UI bootcamp at University of Birmingham because of the esteemed reputation of this university. I studied an undergraduate degree and missed my opportunity to study with UoB so it was always a dream of mine – and did not disappoint!
