A brief history of your career since leaving the University of Birmingham

After I graduated I moved back to my home country of Ecuador. I was then hired by Bureau Veritas as a Human Resources Manager for a year. After this position, I then moved to Grupo Synergy (Synergy Group), which is an old an aviation company. I then left this company to have my three children. Currently I am working as a Human Resources Manager for Uribe and Schwarzkopf, which is one of the biggest Construction Companies in Quite, Ecuador’s capital city.

Skills and knowledge from your postgraduate degree have you used in your career so far

I am consistently required to utilise skills in administration, operations and logistics, and finance.

Main work activities in your current role

Activities include: human development, recruiting and candidate selection, administration, and objective and diagnostic evaluation.

A typical day in your job

The typical day requires lots of decision making, meeting deadlines, and exploring opportunities.

Main challenges in your role

It can be a challenge to remain efficient and innovative in this role.

Why did this type of work appeal to you?

I believed that I had the skills to undertake this role, and this is why it initially appealed, and still appeals, to me.
