A brief history of your career since leaving the University of Birmingham

After graduating from UoB, I attained the skills and knowledge which enabled me to start a consultancy job from 2012-2015 at the African Development Bank as a Procurement Expert. I’ve also worked as an individual consultant with individual customers on matters such as: logistics, strategy and supply chain, marketing, operations management, and strategy management.


Skills and knowledge from your postgraduate degree have you used in your career so far

Skills I use include: strategy management, and understanding and ability to navigate the international business environment, an understanding of contract management, practical knowledge marketing segmentation/mixed marketing, and negotiation.


Main work activities in your current role

Advise and consult on all matters related to procurement and the supply chain.


Main challenges in your role

The majority of people do not get ready to accept and learn new skills, and are unwilling to gain knowledge, so this can really prove a challenge.

Current students should follow up on the appropriate knowledge and skills recommended by University of Birmingham lecturers. Their advice has proven invaluable to me for various business activities, as well as with my own consulting duties.
