A brief history of your career since leaving the University of Birmingham

Since 2002 I have been working within the Mexican financial sector for Stock Brokerage Companies, and in Asset Management. I also lead and participate in diverse business initiatives within Mexico and Australia.

Skills and knowledge from your postgraduate degree have you used in your career so far

In the role I utilise my skills in business and corporate management, negotiation, leadership and financial control.

Main work activities in your current role

I am the company leader, so I decide and foresee new investment opportunities and practice general management.

A typical day in your job

I supervise house building, meet with potential investors, architects and real estate brokers, and supervise accounting and budgets.

Main challenges in your role

To achieve the best investment yield in order to increase the company's assets with the least possible risk.

Why did this type of work appeal to you?

I have always been entrepreneurial, and have a special gift of foresight when it comes to new business opportunities. Enhancement and innovation are both things that I enjoy very much, and this has always spurred my interest.

Advice for students looking to enter this area of work?

The Real Estate Industry is in constant development all around the globe. This makes working in this sector an excellent opportunity for participating and creating great things for the benefit of many people.
