Q&A Archive

These were the questions asked during the Postgraduate programmes in the School of Social Policy live event.

We’ve come to the end of our Q&A session today. Thank you very much to everyone who took part – I hope we managed to be of assistance and provide the information that you were looking for.

We will hold many more of these online chat events over the coming months so please check now and again to see what we’ve got lined up for the future. If you’d like to visit our campus (in real life!), our next Postgraduate Open Day will take place on Saturday 23 November 2019. We also run bespoke campus tours throughout term time and Cafés at which you can meet current students.

Ethel asked:

Hello again. Are you still accepting applications for 2019/20 ?

Kate replied:

Yes we are still accepting applications. Are you a Home/EU or international student?

If you are an international student the deadline for Tier 4 applications is July 1st (although we would advise you apply as soon as possible). If you are a UK/EU student the application deadline is 30th September.

Ethel asked:

Hello. I was hoping to find out about when the placement sits for MA Social Work ? Many thanks

Kate replied:

Hi Ethel

The year one placement is 70 days and begins in March. The second placement in year two is for 100 days and begins in November.

I hope that helps!

ethel asked:

when does the placement occur during the academic year

Harriet Thomson replied:

Hi Ethel,

For the MA Policy into Practice programmes, the degree is 21 months long and the integrated placement takes place in year 2. It is worth 60 credits and spans across 2 semesters.

Best wishes,
